About FoxFire Games

What Organized Play Actually Provides
Owners Who Live and Breathe Tabletop Gaming
FoxFire Games is owned and operated by Conrad and Matthew, two lifelong gamers who turned their passion for tabletop gaming into a business where players can gather, compete, and explore new games. Both owners bring decades of hands-on experience across roleplaying games, miniatures, board games, and trading card games—experience that shapes how the store operates and what you'll find on the shelves.
When you visit FoxFire Games, you're working directly with people who understand the mechanics of a 8-hour Avalon Hill game, the strategy behind competitive Magic: The Gathering play, and the satisfaction of running a months-long D&D campaign. That depth of knowledge influences everything from product selection to event planning to the advice you'll receive when you're choosing your next game.
Conrad and Matthew didn't just decide to open a game store—they've been active participants in organized play programs, competitive card game circuits, and gaming communities for years. Conrad started his first D&D campaign in 2001 and has been running roleplaying games ever since. Matthew competed in trading card games and volunteered with organized play programs throughout the last decade. Both owners currently play the games they sell, which means the recommendations you receive come from actual gameplay experience, not just reading the back of a box.

Conrad:
From Avalon Hill to Necrons
Conrad is one of the owners of FoxFire Games. He started playing tabletop games with his father at a very young age, beginning with Avalon Hill's Civilization—a game that takes 8 hours to play and requires patience most kids don't have. His first D&D campaign started in 2001 and ignited a love for roleplaying games that continues today.
Conrad cut his teeth on miniatures games during the 3rd edition of Warhammer 40k and the 5th and 6th edition of Warhammer Fantasy Battles. He originally played Tau, but has since been converted to serving the cause of the Necrontyr. Conrad has also been involved in various organized play programs and played a number of card games throughout the years, including Magic: The Gathering, Android: Netrunner, and Pokemon.
His favorite game types are roleplaying games, miniatures games, and board games. What he's playing recently: Warhammer 40k, Starfinder 2E, Dungeon Crawl Classics, and Pirates of the High Teas.
Matthew:
Competitive Player Turned Store Owner
Matthew is one of the owners of FoxFire Games. His passion for gaming has been evident from a young age, whether playing traditional games like Cribbage and Stratego with his dad, running D&D and Pathfinder campaigns with his friends throughout high school, or diving deep and competing in trading card games like Magic: the Gathering and the My Little Pony CCG.
His introduction to more modern board games came during a game night at a local comic store with the first edition of Descent: Journeys In the Dark, although he and his play group rarely managed to win. In addition, Matthew has enjoyed designing games in his free time and volunteering or working with several organized play programs over the last decade.
His favorite game types are trading card games and board games. What he's playing recently: Everdell, Flamecraft Duals, MTG Commander, Pathfinder 2E, and Warhammer 40k.
